Mosquito Control Technician

We are searching for an individual with customer service background to fill the full time seasonal position of a Mosquito Control Technician. A Connecticut state certification is needed for this position, however, we are willing to train and certify.

Qualifications:

  • Customer relations skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in math and ratios calculations
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Able to carry 50lbs or more
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve
  • Subject to motor vehicle record check, background check & drug test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Connecticut Commercial Operator Pesticide Certificate a plus
  • OSHA 10 hour certification or willing to obtain

Responsibilities:

  • Mix pesticides to correct concentration
  • Equip truck for daily service route
  • Oversee daily upkeep of truck & pesticide application equipment
  • Access client properties for effectiveness of application
  • Knowledgeable of application process and understanding of pesticides

Vegetation Management Technician

Tired of being cooped up inside all day? Ready for a daily change of scenery? Or maybe you just want to spend your days outside, working in the woods, rather than stuck behind a desk or in a cubicle? Currently enrolled in an environmental studies program at school and looking for related work experience? This may be the perfect opportunity for you! One day you can be in the forested hills of Northeastern Connecticut, hiking through the woods with a backpack. The next day you can be operating our MarshMaster through the tidal coastline at the mouth of the Connecticut River. The following day you can be in Massachusetts, working with youth groups to educate them on the benefits of managing Open Space for water quality preservation within an urban environment! All Habitat Services is an ecological services firm specializing in the management and remediation of invasive species within the environment. We are seeking hardworking, determined and fun individuals to join our team immediately. While a degree is helpful, it is not required for these positions. A state certification is required for the positions but we are willing to train and certify the right individuals to join our family!

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral or written instructions and meet deadlines with consideration of changing priorities and weather conditions
  • Ability to drive a pickup truck & tow trailers
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and remain insurable
  • Knowledge of invasive plants common to Connecticut beneficial but not required
  • Connecticut Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate or willing to obtain
  • OSHA 10 hour certificate or willing to obtain
  • College degree or experience in Environmental Science, Biology, Wetland or Lake Management a benefit
  • GIS experience a plus
  • Subject to motor vehicle record check, background check & drug test

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Supervisor with proper plant identification, formulating proper management techniques, and follow through with treatments
  • Prepares & applies herbicides, algaecides & biological controls
  • Operate boats, tracked all terrain vehicles, application equipment, etc.
  • Under the instructions of the Supervisor, completes and records all work in conjunction with Federal and State guidelines
  • Keeps accurate records and submits reports as needed
  • Oversee daily upkeep of truck & pesticide application equipment
  • Access client properties for effectiveness of application
  • Increases knowledge of application process and understanding of pesticides and Integrated Pest Management procedures
  • Attends meetings and conferences as needed
  • Able to fix minor repairs on equipment in field as needed
